Food: REWARDS OF UNBELIEF (Part 2)

Last week we saw that unbelief retains sin, brings condemnation, casts away, and blocks divine intervention. We continue:
5. Broken Off From God’s Goodness
Romans 11:20 says, “…because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith.” Unbelief cuts a man off from the olive tree of God’s covenant blessings.
6. No Grace and Forfeited Sonship
John 1:11-12 says, “He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God…” To reject Christ is to trade grace for disgrace and sonship for slavery.
7. Denied Access To Rest
Hebrews 3:19 says, “So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”
Hebrews 4:6 say, “Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief”
“Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief” (Hebrews 4:11).
Israel could not enter His rest because of unbelief. Unbelief keeps a man wandering in the wilderness of worry, struggle, and unrest.
8. Divine Displeasure
Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him…” Unbelief displeases God, while faith delights Him.
9. Spiritual Blindness and Hardness of Heart
Mark 16:14 – Unbelief blinds the mind and hardens the heart against truth, even when evidence is clear.
2 Corinthians 4:4 says, “the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
Mark 16:14 says, “Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.”
Eat the scroll this weekend: Choose faith and labour to enter into rest by believing (Hebrews 4:11).
PRAYER
1. Lord God, kindly graft me firmly into Your goodness by faith and let me not be broken off in Jesus’ name.
2. Heavenly Father, open my eyes and give me the heart of believing you and grant me access to your rest in Jesus’ name. Amen.
