LET’S GO TO SITTING, DINING AND WALKING IN HIGH PLACES -Pastor Toye Ebijomore.
The Lord has declared this month as His set time for you to start sitting, dining, and walking in high places. He has bear your unpleasant situations long enough, and he is no more pleased with them at all. He therefore stooped from the highest heaven and saw the things in heavens and on earth for the purpose to raise you up from the dust and lift you up from the dunghill, and to set you among the princes of nations. But this is only if you are ready.
Get Gate-Pass To The High Places
You need to get your gate-pass before you can be allowed to start sitting, dining, and walking in the high places.
Psalm 24:3-5 says, Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
[4] He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
[5] He shall receive the blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
The only thing that can make your hands not clean and your heart not pure is sin. If you are stained with sin, the following shall be your lots:
(i) You shall not be allowed to ascend to the hill of the Lord
(ii) You shall not be allowed to stand in His holy place
(iii) You shall not receive blessing from the Lord.
(iv) You shall not receive His righteousness to save you from evils.
What Is Sin?
Sin is an immoral act considered to be a transgression against the law of God (1John 3:4) and rebellion against God (Deut 9:7, Josh 1:18).
There are three types of sin, which are: inherited sin, imputed sin, and personal sin. Anyone who sin in whichever way is known as a sinner and every sinner is declared before God as follows:
(i) a disobedient-Rom 5:19; Eph 2:1-2
(ii) an enemy -Rom 5:10;
(iii) an injured -James 5:16, Jer 30:12-17
(iv) a defiled -1Corinth 6:18-19 ; 3:16
(v) an unholy -1Tim 1:9; 2Tim 3:2, Heb 10:29
(vi) a profane – 1Tim 1:8-9, Ezek 28:16; 36:20-23
(vii) an unclean -Mat 15:18-20
(viii) a polluted and polluter -2Tim 2:16,
(ix) an abominable -Prov 28:9, 15:8-9
(x) a rejected or cast away -1Corinth 5:4-5
(xi) someone whom God must not hear -John 9:31
(xii) a condemned criminal -Luk 23:39-41
(xiii) a slave -John 8:34-36
(xiv) a debtor -Mat 6:12
(v) a dead and poor stranger -Eph 2:1
Therefore, when you sin and take up the above 9 titles or names before God, it means the door for attack is opened on you, or your home, or your group/company/fold/assembly, depending on the kind of sin you committed.
How People Fall Into Sin
James 1:14-15 But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed. [15] Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Therefore, the four stages of sin from the above text are:
Death. ‘and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death’. The inevitable result of sin is always death.
Lust or wrong deaire. The first stage in the process of sin is lust or wrong desire.
Enticement or Deception. The second stage in the process is enticement or deception. It starts in your imagination but moves into behaviour, and whatever you flirt with is what you will fall for.
Disobedience. You know what is right but you stubbornly lusted after what is wrong and got enticed. ‘Then, when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin.’ What begins in your mind results in actions.
How To Be Saved From Sin And Its Consequences
Repent and be Baptized/ Repent and be Re-admitted into the fold.
Matthew 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
Don’t cover your sin. Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
Get reasoned with God in His words and take a wash by His word.
Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Come to Jesus.
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin a not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
Confess your sins and ask for forgiveness.
1John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Who Has The Power To Forgive Sins
- God has the power to forgive sins
- The Son of man. Jesus says in Luke 5:24 ‘that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins’.
- Servants of God. The power to forgive sins has been conferred by Jesus upon the apostles. Thus, the true servants of God have been given the authority to receive the confession of sin and to forgive it in Jesus name
John 20:23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
Benefits For A Truly forgiven One
Acceptance, Protection, and Joy.
Your presence before the Lord will be accepted. Then, your offerings and sacrifeces will be accepted and you will have joy.
Matthew 5:23-24 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Blessing,
Psalm 32:1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Mercy and Prosperity.
Proverbs 28:13 interprets that whosoever does not cover his sins but confessed them appropriately and forsaken them, shall his or sins be covered and he or she shall prosper and have mercy.
Restoration.
Psalm 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
James 5:19-20 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
Psalm 51:18-19 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem. [19] Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
Congratulations, this is the time of grace for salvation and of refreshing to be in the high places.
The Lord be pleased with you in Jesus name. Amen.
Shalom!
